im just a little rabbit and i became a pet
they locked me in a cage then me did forget
i was just a novelty i was something new
though it only lasted for a week two
forgetting all about me in my little cage
just like a reading book i was just another page
now i have to struggle and put up with my strife
i thought that peoples pets were supposed to last for life.

A great poem with a powerful message Jim. How many times with my children did I warn them that neglect of a pet is a crime. As said in the Little Prince. When you tame something you become responsible for it. An animal is not a toy it is a life. I will not take on another dog, get a cat or horse because they probably will out live me and then who will care for them. Loved it

means a lot jim
You are very welcome Jim
Excellent
thanks for comment jim
Good write Jim. It's not good for one rabbit to be alone - if they can live in pairs without fighting, I think they should.
i used to breed show rabbits as a kid
thanks for lovely comment jim
The rabbit to me could represent seclusion, lonliness and a feeling of separation. The cage is not its home. The love of its owner was.
thanks for beautiful comment jim
