In my garden birch and ivy,
Grass too long and getting lively.
Berries black and ripening nicely
Snails sedately nod politely
Pesky ragwort green and hoary
Autumn turning gold in glory
Magpies swooping nice and neat
Squirrels finding bits to eat
Foxes slinking in defeat
Frogs avoiding careless feet
Mousies cuddle deep unseen
Cats patroling slow and keen
Hedgehogs curl without a care
Washing hung with room to spare
And past the privet over there
Red across the skyline traipsies
Over woods far as the eye sees
There sleeps the Giant of the Campsies
October sun is setting fast
And I go off to dine at last

Such a beautiful scene you have painted in words. It feels relaxing despite all the company, cozy even outdoors, scenic with the surrounding area it encompasses nature and that is always reassuring. Very nicely done my friend
The company is easy, nothing that want to eat me! Pity really, I probably taste really good, maybe just a little bit bitter. Thanks for your comment. Glad I could share the Sleeping Giant with you.
You are most welcome my friend. I enjoyed seeing the pictures of what seems a most wonderful place. As for me too old and tough for eating unless in a stew with a lot of seasoning to cut the sour and bitter flavor. The secret is in the sauce they say
Jabberwocky, I absolutely loved this! Had me smiling the whole way through. I could almost picture myself sitting out there with a cup of coffee, taking it all in. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Well, if you're ever in Glasgow I have a spare mug. You can say hello to the Giant, but not too loudly, he's sleeping.
Thanks for your comment, hope you are well.
I really need to cut that ,"lively" grass, but the truth is I like it, and there are creatures living in there! Im too soft.
