The spider has eight legs
I counted them it's true,
That means four for him
and two for me and you.
Four should do him fine
That's really still a lot,
That leave four for us
To put into our pot.
There might not be much eating
But at least it will be hot,
The larders pretty empty
So that is all we've got.
A little bit of onion
Or maybe a shallot,
Now we're really cooking,
That should hit the spot!

- Comment from author about the poem: Just a silly wee thing for a wet Saturday morning. "Tea" is what we often call the evening meal in Glasgow.
