Laughter's fun and good for you,
So get your laughs 'fore you turn blue!
If I could think of a sensible rhyme,
Maybe while writing I'd have a fun time.
Rhyming in writing is good practice for you,
So practice your rhymes 'til you feel you do!
Now that I've made a fool of myself,
I'll steal away 'fore I say something else!
That last line just did not rhyme;
Fix it quick, while you have time!
I think I'll rhyme 'til I'm out of sense....
Which isn't a problem too immense!!!
Since I've rhymed
'Til the clock 'bout chimed
I think I'll beat
A hasty retreat!
Bye, bye, bye, don't let this fly!
He's my darling and my beau....
While I'm his more dear he'll grow!
Oh my sweet love, please hold me tight!
I'll cherish you with all my might!
Ya prob'ly do this ev'ry day,
Just not in this partic'lar way.
I'm gonna have you (if I may)
Please exercise your brain today!
But haven't you heard
The wonderful word?
If you but rock
Around the clock,
Then you can rhyme
To pass the time!
If this may seem to you
Like nothing grand to do
This task you will not do,
And I'll be very blue!

- Comment from author about the poem: I confess I LOVE to rhyme, so here is a collection of miscellaneous little rhymes....couplets, quatrains, and a lone line..... Oooh, JVL....I'm not a criminal, really, am I?

I can't believe I'm the first one to comment on this great poem. You mentioned to fix one of the poems' lines but there was nothing to fix. I know it's all juss good humor but still you created yet another great poem. I'm gonna look at all the ones that havent been commented on yet and comment. I'll have to remember your name in the future when you're a famous poet.
Thanks...that's really friendly and sweet of you, seriously. You are making me smile! I think I'll remember YOUR name, and hope mine isn't INfamous. Since you'll remember me, then when I come begging for your autograph, you'll kindly grant it, right?
Right 🙂
