CHILD IS GREATER THAN MAN

CHILD IS GREATER THAN MAN

When I was a child

I used to wonder

What was the cause of thunder?

Why the grass was green

Or the Apple was red

How could water go into Coconut?

Everything fascinated my inquisitive mind

And my heart was incredibly kind

Now I have become fifty years old

My heart has become unashamedly cold

I don’t care even if an innocent child

Fell into sinking mud

Or a pious saint was killed in cold blood

And a number of villages were

Marooned by furious flood

Or a heinous terrorist shot

A number of devout pilgrims

Brutally dead

I don’t know whether

The colour of my blood is red

The snow of insensitivity

Froze my childish heart

And destroyed my creative art

The sin of my selfishness

Deleted my human part

And drove out my divine craft

Alas, the cruelty of "reality" destroyed the ignorant sweetness of youth? Say, rather that it is a tempting thought, but not that the heart has been impossibly hardened,....please? I mean, in a very real sense, while the child might seem greater than the man for his ignorance and initial sweetness, it is horrifying to me anymore to see how cruel and hardened even little children are, and la, how rebellious we are even as tots. It seems then, only an illusion that the child was greater than the man he became. We were ignorant but no less evil, weren't we? I enjoyed the picture.

Dear Ms Cheeky, I value your comments but you seem to disagree with me in certain aspects.well,my views are not final.I appreciate your frankness and sensitivity. You are still a child and I am your elder brother.I think you are teasing me as a little sister
    yours loving brother,

Well, thank you very much for being such a kind, understanding elder brother, seriously. I hope I am not a naughty little sister.
