Depression

Jennifer Teresa Nunes

Broken in, a major wreck
A thick tough rope around my neck

This thought lingers with every moment still
The internal battle that has made me ill

Can't resist these damaged thoughts
Sliced up wrists, even though I fought

This numbing war where my body's been dragged
It's time now for me to throw in the white flag.

  • Comment from author about the poem: how it felt then. This piece was actually written after the experiences. And though I never tried to hurt myself, so many people do adn thats why I felt it was important to be real with this poem. Sometimes those heart breaking moments are the best thing that ever happen to you. And to those whom fight still, trust your heart for it's what gives you courage. It will guide you in the right direction

Experiencing it is frequently the best means for expressing it well. It is well-written, and using couplets made your points more forcefully....I enjoyed it. And yet our hearts are deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, and if we trust in them we are fools.
