The day you left

happy feet

The day you left

Was the saddest day of my life

When I heard the news

I couldn’t believe it was true

You’ve been here so long

and it’s hard to admit that you’re gone

I would never think you will leave,

and I wish you were still here

for at least one more year

when I see an old picture of you

I get a smile and I remember all the good times we had.

The time you would sing a song

And you would make us sing along

When you would laugh and say random stuff

which was the happiest memory that I’ve got.

And the times that you would be there for us

And that now you won’t be able to do that.

I miss your being
but I feel your presence,

Your smile, your eyes
your laughter, your words
will always be in my mind and in my heart.

So when we have to leave you
at your resting place
I will always remember
your smiling and your beautiful face.

    aww really??

  • Cheeky Missy

Yikes! She was only 18! It is a very beautiful, tender and sweet tribute to and memento of your dear friend. You almost make your readers miss her as well. And the picture so perfectly fits with your concluding words. You expressed your memories and loving sentiments very nicely. Excellent!
