The Offer

The Offer
-by MVB

About your beauty I could build a world
That braves and strongs would fight to conquer
All running in a haste with flags unfurled
To be the first and be the winning striker

About your grace a painting I could make
Of lines and strokes of ultimate indulgence
That all the viewers stopping by the lake
Would savor colors of your corporal effulgence

About your kindness I could write a song
Of sounds so pure and dreamy and pristine
The best composers could find nothing wrong
The perfect pitch and most amazing tune

About your smile I could build a boat
And set its sails to cross the wondrous seas
Where all the waves would give to let it float
And winds would aid it gently with their breeze

About your touch a statue I could build
Of polished marble from the precious mines
To give us all a heart with joy that’s filled
And contemplate its all majestic lines

But many years would pass to learn these crafts
And love that’s here now could soon depart
So while the others vying start their drafts
I’m here just to offer you my heart

Aw. This is soo good...and still 10/9 days 'til the lover's holiday of Valentines Day...la, you should've saved this sweet piece...or is there more honeyed poetry in store for that day? I quite enjoyed this tribute to adoring love! Beautiful, made me smile happily (even now), delightful! Loved it!!! Every stanza with fresh images in honour of the beauty you worship....so delightfully poetic......Excellent!
