I GOT UP LATE FOR SCHOOL TODAY,
I QUICKLY THREW BOOKS IN MY BAG,
MY PENS, MY LUNCH AND SWIMMING SHORTS,
GRABBED MY COAT FROM THE CUPBOARD.
I BELTED OUT OF THE FRONT DOOR,
SPUN ROUND AND SWUNG IT SHUT,
SAW THE BUS WAS WAITING FOR ME,
I FELT I HAD TO RUN!
I CLIMBED ABOARD AND THEN FROZE STILL,
AND KNEW THAT THINGS WEREN'T RIGHT!
MY FRIENDS FELL DOWN IN FITS OF FUN,
AND POINTED OUT WITH DELIGHT!
I REALIZED I FORGOT TO CHANGE,
MY UNIFORM, MY BLUE UNIFORM,
MY FACE WENT RED ON SEEING THIS,
NOW, I NEVER WAKE UP LATE AGAIN

Great! I loved it! Made me think a moment and then laugh! Excellent! Your lines and stanzas effectively make your point, yet I miss your usual use of end-rhyming. Delightful and humorous...and instructive.....thanks for posting it!
