"A Fortnight of Valentines"---my latest (crazy)whimsy....a collection of sappy sonnet (attempts), fraught with redundancy, and so hastily executed and crafted by imaginative fancy as to hopefully not be too repulsive to the reader. And yes, fairly UNedited, presently.
Day Sixteen!
(sonnet attempt XXV)
XXV
Though thick and thin, for better or for worse.
And come what may I'll always ever say
I'm yours. Because you call me mine I pray
That US and WE will ever be: rehearse
The happy truth that I am thine, converse
Forever on that line in gloomy days
And bright, when shines the sun or clouds be grey,
Myself in that sweet fact daily immerse.
When you demand and I can't please you dear,
(Because you are not perfect, Valentine)
When I think my way's best and you won't hear,
Submit against my will and then repine,
Remember you're the man I must revere.....
E'en then, forever true, confess "I'm THINE!"

- Comment from author about the poem: Originally the seventh valentine (for initially I'd begun on "a week of valentines") it makes hopefully a fitting conclusion, even as the 16th/extra valentine for this crazy series "A Fortnight of Valentines," doesn't it? Or does it? Realistic?
