Through the Snow....Singing!

Cheeky Missy

V.1

Trudging through the snow
On a lovely winter's day,
Through the lot I go,
Singing all the way!
Reveling anew
At softly falling snow,
Tiny delicate flakes view,
Descending as I go!

CHORUS:
O Wintertime...it's so fine!
And it is quite cold!
All the water that comes down
Is chilly ice or snow!
O Wintertime---beauty nigh!
Delicately known,
Opposite of summertime
And just as beautiful!

V.2
Plunging through the snow,
In drifts above my knees!
Through the yard I go,
Singing happily!
I'm a pioneer,
In this world so white;
Loving all the diamonds
In the snow reflecting light!

(CHORUS)

V.3
Traipsing through the snow,
In deep or dusting light,
Gaily now I go....
Singing o' this time!
Treading carefully,
Slipping on the ice....
Daringly I'm "king"
On mounts of snow piled so high!

(CHORUS)

  • Comment from author about the poem: Two years after "Trudging Through the Snow" and still singing it, here is a fresh set of lyrics with a more cheerful outlook....to the same tune of Jingle Bells, of course, with a slightly altered chorus from the last....like it?
