Eventually

Emi

I’m thinking of you

Wherever you happen to be

Though I know you’re not

Thinking of me

My hands feel freezing

Without yours to warm them again

I reach out to touch you just once more

But it’s only just pretend

Every song I hear

Reminds me of the way we were

Every dance we danced

Now all a blur

I still turn my head to the side

Hoping to see you walking beside me

And I always do, and smile

But I realize that it’s only a dream

I begin to wonder

About whether you were ever here

Your absence, now a vivid reality

Was before only a fear

But I still wish you great happiness

Though happiness you already possess

I guess I’m pleased to tell you

My own sadness I’ve begun to repress

Perhaps I’m even somewhat, maybe, a little happy

So you can go on forgetting me

And I’ll forget you…

Eventually

This will sound very odd, but as I was reading it I have to admit it is well ... very close to the way I feel.
It’s beautifully written and I congratulate you in the deepest sense.
    Take care
    See you soon
