Miscellaneous Quatrains on...Summer and Winter

Cheeky Missy

O summer comes in with a flourish
And leaves with a sultry-ish tang!
Melting us all with a soggy heat
And leaving with somewhat the same!

Seems winter's so tempestuous
When it gives 'way to spring.....
As if it would'nt lose it's grip
Without a raucous scene!

Oh.....wait. A snowy spring day that discouraged longing me.....looking exactly like winter!

If you can think it looks like spring
I'm hard-pressed now to see
What you find in this winter scene
That looks to you like....spring!

  • Comment from author about the poem: So like, I occasionally scribbled down ideas on the seasons.....not spring or autumn....afterall, I love them so well they deserved entire poems....just, and Why? summer and winter.

I really like this poem. I wish Summer, and spring would stay forever, but I suppose if it weren't for Winter, we wouldn't be able to appreciate the beauty of the Summers' and Springs'. I Really like your writing, keep em' coming.

Thank you very much for your thoughtful, insightful comment.....I much appreciate it! Thanks for the compliment too. Excellent point, I suppose we DO value spring all the more after the dead barren chill of winter.
