Emerald Wings

Emi

Look in the mirror and see only you

Say what you say and know it’s true

Do not let anyone unjustly confine

Just let your soul brilliantly shine

Your life should never be fake

Don’t ever feel like a mistake

Never base yourself on expectation

Your life should be only your creation

Always and forever be yourself

Put your mask back on the shelf

To be someone else never pretend

Within yourself you’ll find a friend

Everyone is beautiful in their way

Someone else you don’t have to portray

You are amazing the way you are

You are your own shining star

Spread your emerald wings

Cut off your puppet strings

Fly away; from captivity flee

And be only who you want to be

This is the best poem on earth! Again, I know my comments are getting a bit repetitive, but they`re all utterly true! Your word choice is brilliant, and it supports the poem all the time. You always have the right syllable count, and it`s just amazing. And on a more personal note, I love it because I`m kind of a low self esteem type of girl. I get bullied a lot, and I normally let that all go to my head. I also get per pressured into doing things I don`t want to, and being someone I`m not. This poem really inspires me to stand up for myself, and to shed off my stupid disguise, and just be myself. Thank you- your poems truly are epidemic, and life changing XOXO

Thank you (again)! 🙂 I hope you stop getting bullied, it must be terrible... 🙁 But I'm glad I can be of some help and inspiration. 🙂
