First

Emi

The guitar has struck its first minor chord

And the first mile of grief has been explored

The first of the frequent tears have been shed

Every ounce of hope just now turned to dread

I realized my mistakes and unfortunately so did you

They stopped my dreams before they could come true

They started the fire that burned down my heart

And woke the sorrow that had been there from the start

So began the first of many battles to be fought in this war

And the first of many waves to crash upon the shore

And the first act of this play has only just begun

Yet already we both know that you have won

How long must this depressing game be played?

How long must I be scared of being afraid?

I cannot ever give you something I don’t possess;

So how could you expect me to ever give you happiness?

So here comes the first of many sleepless nights

And the first of many hopeless fights

In a puddle of sadness I have dived headfirst

And now I am completely and utterly submersed

Wow, you go deep (don`t worry, it`s a good thing). They way you write.... I can`t believe you`re a 14 year old! Wow...
Just a few questions, please. How do you write such amazing poems? What inspires you? How do you do it in general? And... just, whoa.

        • Emi

Thanks again. 🙂 Well I answered those questions partially on another one of your comments, but another thing I do is I listen to a lot of music and read a lot of poems and books, and I can get ideas from those. I get a lot of inspiration from music. 🙂

Yeah, I get inspiration for a lot of things from music (mainly art, though) 🙂
