Mirror World

broken_dreams23

Mirror, mirror, who is the fairest,

Who does lure me to this temptress,

Reaching out from the rippled art,

To pull me into her blackened heart?

Beyond sin, beyond redemption,

Beyond time, beyond dimension,

She stands before Death's portal,

Between light and dark...immortal.

A beauty, uncompromised,

The captive stare of hypnotic eyes,

They draw, they lure me to her ward,

Confused, I step forward.

A hand, so light, so white, so pale,

Her face, a grey and ashened veil,

She welcomes me with a sneering smile,

I hold her hand, so cold and vile.

I kiss her lips of lifeless breath,

Oh so cold, the kiss of death,

Sends shivers up and down my spine,

Sends my mind spiraling through time.

Past, present and future rolled into one,

What happened back then is happening again,

As memories flood through my mind's eye,

I don't know whether to smile or cry.

I hurtle forward to the present,

To feel the coldness of the moment,

A foggy mist blurs my vision,

As my future loses it's commission.

I watch my future distort before me,

Living in this mirror world won't be easy,

I don't know this past where my future lies,

It seems today will be a good day to die.

It's strange, this feeling of ambiance,

To watch my reflection's evanescence,

Death may hold no compromise,

But this mirror world never dies.
