Melancholy Music Box

Emi

I cried an ocean and fell in too deep

Eyes wide open; powerless to sleep

Floating listless through barren spray

In a world of color, seeing only grey

I painted a sunset and collapsed into night

Wings fallen away; incapable of flight

Trapped in desolation and hopeless defeat

Living with a soul only halfway complete

I smiled and my heart grew heavy with grief

I tried to believe but was met with disbelief

Neglect and doubt shadow my every stride

I have nowhere to run and nowhere to hide

I screamed and yelled but I heard naught

I tried to think but was devoid of thought

Ceaselessly I sought love’s elusive cure

But a loveless heart is too much to endure

Was heard then a quiet poignant tune

Under the light of a bright crescent moon

Slowing with the ticking of love’s clock

Singing like a melancholy music box

This is just too good! I honestly stare at each of your poems for 5 minutes, then read it 2 more times, and then comment.... Can you please do me a favor though? Please tell me; how did you get to be so good??? You`re like a prodigy!

Awww thank you so much! 🙂 I'm not really sure... Mostly to get ideas I just think of something that's been bothering me lately (or making me happy!) and then thinking for a while of things that it could compare to... and just things like that. 🙂 Just write what you really care about. 🙂
