Saving Grace

Barely living with a broken heart

Every aching day tore me apart

Watching the ground as tears fell

Wishing always that I could be well

 

You came along and restored it all

You caught me when I began to fall

Gave me a seamless life worth living

Taught me the virtuosity of forgiving

 

In your gentle caring arms, I grow wings

I’m certain now you’re the king of all kings

For over my heart you’ve had full command

Since our initials were etched in the sand

 

Tears fall, but now only to disregard

With a mended heart no longer scarred

I will follow your light leading the way

I will hang onto every word you say

 

With every smile you smile, I melt inside

As I feel my own happiness spread so wide

You imparted to me love I can never replace

You will forever and always be my saving grace
