A single raindrop fell
Upon a single flower
And then decided to dwell
There hour after hour
Upon a single flower
That raindrop always stayed
There hour after hour
Yet began to be dismayed
That raindrop always stayed
Through every day and night
Yet began to be dismayed
And was filled with fright
Through every day and night
It gazed at the vast sky
And was filled with fright
Wondering if it could ever fly
It gazed at the vast sky
Staring at the rain falling
Wondering if it could ever fly
The clouds were calling
Staring at the rain falling
As it once did before
The clouds were calling
A feeling it could not ignore
As it once did before
It reached up to the sun
A feeling it could not ignore
With waiting it was done
It reached up to the sun
And it floated into the breeze
With waiting it was done
It felt its mind go to ease
And it floated into the breeze
Settled in a cloud and then
It felt its mind go to ease
And it fell to Earth again

- Comment from author about the poem: This is a pantoum that I wrote on a very long car trip yesterday. I didn't actually know what a pantoum was until yesterday, but I brought a book that explains different forms of poetry, so I thought I'd try it. :) In a pantoum, the 2nd and 4th lines of each stanza are the 1st and 3rd lines of the next stanza.

That was awesome! I never quite heard a poem like this before, and it was really cool! A pantoum, you said? I think I want to try it!
