Everlasting Best Friend

Emi

She didn’t correct me when I did something wrong

She didn’t cringe when I sang an out-of-tune song

She wasn’t disappointed when I got a bad grade

She didn’t laugh at me when I was alone and afraid

She was there for me whenever I was in a bad mood

She was the only best friend with whom I never did feud

She was always there waiting with a smile on her face

She was always willing to provide a loving embrace

My loyal, loving dog; my everlasting best friend

Even through all of these years, even after the end

I still love you, want you, and need you all the same

But no matter how you left, I’m glad that you came
