Radiant Leaves.....

Cheeky Missy

(sonnet #CLV)

CLV

Translucent leaves in morning's bloss'ming light,
When cheerful melodies enfold as rays
And golden splashes mingle, welc'ming day's
Arrival, dappled shadows frolic slight
On verdant scenes where greenest foliage bright
Enriches all, illumed in rich displays
'Midst darker fellows, liven the arrays
As dancing faintly in the gleams, delight.
Resplendent in the gloaming's full-blown glow,
And gently rustling softly or quite still,
Their varied outlines 'mongst the rest a show
Serene and breath-taking, while songs e'er spill
In symphonies, their brilliance does bestow
As sunshine charms through them a gilded thrill.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Arising and marveling at the luminescence of some of the Maple leaves out my window, I felt inspired and thought a sonnet on their allure in the morning and evening would be perfect.
