The first cycle seems like a bore,
What’s in our minds we can ignore
Just a few days and you're out d door
Skipping and jumping forevermore!
A second, a third, and soon a four
As the pain runs from tip to core
Sucking every ounce of your vigor
Til your jaw drops to the floor
But .. you’ve been told before
this race still demands for more.
Every cycle seems a heavy chore
But a final dash will come I’m sure
Stay on the line sayang!
We know you can finish it!
From Abah (Dad)!

- Comment from author about the poem: My daughter will be going through the last cycle of the Chemotherapy for the cancer she just removed. Her marriage was to let her feel that her future is secure and she has nothing to worry about. Unfortunately chemotherapy has taxed her spirits so deeply making every cycle harder and harder! This poem was written to make cheer her spirits and to tell her that we love her (Sayang is Darling in Malay)and that we'll be there to keep her going through the last dash to the ticker rape!

Thank you for the very helpful author's note. Oh, how sweet and poignant this is! May she recover from the horrendous cruel solution to cancer and bounce back shortly! It is precious because of the love that is cheering the wearied racer to hang in there. Sweet. I like it.
