Hold her hand

Huzaidi Hashim

Son ...

We want you to know

since you took her hand

her smile began to glow.

Son ...

Her pain is really deep

Just hold on to her hand

and don't let her weep

Son ...

We really need you

to just hold her hand

and let her know it’s you

Son ...

It's never too early

to hold her hand close

and let her not worry

Son ...

It's never too late

to hold her hand dearly

and let everything wait

Son …

Just stay by her side

Keep her hand in yours

and let the pain subside

Son ...

She really needs you

to hold her and tell her

that your love is true

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem is dedicated to our newly wedded son in law Abdul Salam Embong to encourage him to hold our daughter's hand and help her get past the pain of the last stages of her chemotherapy. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) once said “When a husband glances lovingly at his wife and she returns the glance, Verily Allah is watching over them with His ‘Rahmah’ (divine love) and if he (the husband) caresses his wife’s hand, their pain will fall off through the gaps between their fingers” Hadith narrated by Maisarah Ali from Abu Said al Khudri
