Resolved.....

Cheeky Missy

(sonnet # L)

L

I'll learn again how not to care so much:
I'll learn to laugh anew, forgetting you;
I will leave off this mis'ry sore, and soon
I'll be carefree; nor listless, restless touch
All 'round with distant gaze, and fevered clutch
At straws, reliving mem'ries sweet, nor swoon
At thought of you and fun now gone. I'll do
All this, I hope, how soon? I will be such
As once I was. Not wilting flow'r in vase
All bowed for lack of water, but stand tall,
As 'twas before being pluckt. Like bushes get
All weighted down by heavy snows, my case
As theirs in spring shall be: I'll bounce back, call
These days naught; smile, revive, yes, I'll forget.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Some folks, I am persuaded, never taste this. Others, how many times do they go through it before they live "happily ever after"? and yet others take the route of Sir Thomas Wyatt, saying "Farewell, love, and all thy laws...forever!" Before that though, how many say this? P.S.Ya, I'm posting this thanks to reading Landsley Alexandre's poem "All Forgotten."
