(sonnet # CCXXVII)
Alas. I "fell in love" again with you!
Although I thought I did not care, and tried,
And nearly too believed as well, that I'd
Out-grown that fond affection, yet just through
Renewal of our first fun quickly grew
Reviving dear loves; and I find beside
I can't deny I still like you and slide
So eas'ly back within that groove, I do.
It's your fault, my undoing lies right there
In that place where it all began a year
Ago. Is it my fault? We're only ne'er
But friends, I said; yet you became so dear
Again because you knew just how t'ensnare
My heart. You do. And now we disappear.

- Comment from author about the poem: This is the first in a series of sonnets on a failed romance. The very first sonnet in that particular love affair is "Love's Lost (Lament)" published early on when I first began here. This one here is the first of 7 on its renewal, following the progress and conclusion of it.
