(sonnet # CCXLI)
How best use gorgeous sunlit days with skies
So richly blue, where merest puffs play games
It seems and faint white haze their edges frames?
Where traipsing gentle breezes softest sighs
All through the golden green nigh tantalize?
Where lacy darling silhouettes' dance claims
Dear loves and lucent leaves sweet prance inflames
Fair fancy? Where th'air breathes low lullabies?
When mellowing with gloaming's touch to kiss
Adieu, where sunset fading paints in hues
Of rosy pinks and yellow's warmth a bliss
Of "goodnight" cheer, while crescent sliver woos
The senses, in the azure night's abyss
Now poised: How best such loveliness then use?

- Comment from author about the poem: Oh, but the first day of October was SO beautiful and perfect! Breathlessly I queried, gazing nigh mesmerized, "How best use such a lovely day? especially when you don't want to miss a moment of it?" Thus beginning with this thought, the sonnet played out 'til evening's arrival bid it all adieu.
