The Morning

bigwolf

I slipped from my morning slumber
Ready to face what may lay ahead
With a new found wonder
Or wanting to sleep more instead

I went to the bathroom
to shake from my head
the sleepy cobwebs I still felt
But to my dismay
I went back to sleep
until the cold water I felt

Shocking me awake with the coldness
I felt a renewed life
a new zeal for the day
slumber was behind me
new adventures waited
outside my door.

You rascals did a lovely job...excepting one thing: you all only contributed one stanza apiece. Wherefore? Ah, the fun of these fusion poems is chasing the thought as far as you can, that is, if you find it a fun game. Thanks for sharing, I felt left of at the end of a short pier, but as we were still yawning and cursing the cold water that insisted we face day, I guess I didn't care and put the faucet to sleep. Just kidding.
