What a world we are living in today
Where children are being tossed away
There is no place for you to sleep
And there is nothing for you to eat
I cry for the children
You awake to find everything gone
Abandoned and left all alone
Unwanted by today's society
Unanswered prayers for your pleas
I cry for the children
Treated wrongly, it should not be allowed
Will we ever understand why and how
How can we do this to such a precious resource
We must learn to change our course
I cry for the children
For parents that lose their children at any stage
Gone too soon no matter their age
My prayers go out for all of you
And tears will suerly fall, I cry with you
I cry for the children
So, everyone stand and help them out
Show the world what indifference is about
We need to change our world's view
Hopefully, no more lost children to make news
And I still cry for the children

Children are our most valuable resource for they are the future of the world. Everybody should make sure that they are taken care of for without children there is no future. Lovely and caring poem.
Thank you Soki, I was a child once. Being born as a baby, with much relief from my mother.
So was I but I was a handful for my mother, I am so grateful . that I did not get one like me, you have no idea. I looked like an angel but my curiosity got me in trouble plenty of times.
maybe you were related to a family of cats with such a curious nature
This poem really choked me up...in fact a few tears slipped out and I am a toughy. I think this is one of your best poems that I have read yet and some real quality work. You are an artist with your pen. have a beautiful day. diamond
Thank you diamond. To touch someone so deeply is in itself it's own reward
lost boys and golden girls... a line from one of my favorite meatloaf songs... this poem depicts the harsh reality of life and one of which we should all be ashamed. well written!
Thank you diamond, the world will have to change.
