Spectrum Of Love

mustofa munir

From a far off star my poem descends to you,

To smell you, to amaze you!

In my poetry you’re a limitless spectrum of love,

With the lotus-leaf I want to wrap you up,

With the fragrance of sandalwood I want

To purify you, with my warmth of heart

I want to embrace you like I embrace

The warmth of a fireplace

In a frosty winter night! In the sea of my happiness

You appear with the high waves,

In the shore of my passion you delightfully enter—

Like a deluge you engulfs me!

You’ll find me—

In the blazing noon of a hot summer,

In the dreadful cold of an arctic winter,

And on a boat where vernal breeze blows around,

O dear, you’ll find me there

At the turning of a river!

  • Comment from author about the poem: A theme of a love poem is vast, expanding and infinite where love appears as colorful spectrum. A lover wants his beloved sweet heart as sacred as a fragrance of sandalwood wrapped in a lotus leaf. He wants to hold her with the warmth of his heart and wants her to be passionate like a deluge that would engulf him..
