My placements change like the seasons
As I'm blown like a leaf upon porch to porch for various reasons
I'm still unwanted this winter as well like last fall
Oh the homes, Iv been through them all
Still managing to surprisingly stay sane and stand a little tall
Minus the pleading screams but none that the caseworker would believe
So when that caseworker's here you fake that smile
And like they always say its only for a little while
So I'll endure as I'm slowly being broken
Praying for the day to come
When I won't have to be seasonally pawned and tokened

This story is well written and I love the line 'as I'm slowly being broken'.
