WATERFALLS - A FLOW POEM

BRIAN & ANGELA

WATERFALLS all have an individual beuaty

Beauty composed of both sight and sound !

Sound of a waterfall - melody of cascading water.

Water gushing through gullies  splashing on rocks

Rocks which form the base of the waterfall and shape.

Shape carved by the incessant flow - tumbling

Tumbling night and day - slower in the Summer

Summer with its heat and less rain then Autumn.

Autumn leaves decorate the lower pool. Green turns -

Turns to brown and yellow and gold - floating gently

Gently floating in the lower pool's calm edges -

Edges filled with all the flotsam & jetsam flowing down

Down from the woodland above the WATERFALLS !

Thank you for reading - BRIAN

  • Comment from author about the poem: In a FLOW POEM the first WORD in line 2 is the same as the last word in line 1. This pattern is repeated throughout the poem. The last word in the poem is the same as the opening word. Try and write one for yourself ! I love waterfalls and love to climb in them - up and down. When i visited the Niagara - Horseshoe Falls my friends had to hold me back from jumping in - it was so so inviting ! Do you like waterfalls ? BRIAN

Yes, yes! Waterfalls are awesome. I've heard of a variety of types of poems, but this is the first that I've heard of a flow poem. Now you know I'm gonna have to try it.
