LOVE - is the source and catalyst for the rest
the greatest human trait ? YES - God is Love
JOY - Being filled with the Spirit give Joy
Inner holiness give us happiness
PEACE - with God enables us to have Peace
with our fellow man - Peace for the whole World
PATIENCE - We are instant society
we want everything NOW ! Love is Patient !
KINDNESS - God exhorts us all to be Kind
helping others not just "walking on by"
GOODNESS - JESUS always did good for all.
Healed the sick - fed the hungry - encouraged
FAITHFULNESS - In the 21st century
people are increasingly unfaithful
GENTLENESS - We live in an aggressive
World. Please try a little tenderness.
SELF CONTROL - Is a product of Love. If
I love my neighbour - I won't abuse him

- Comment from author about the poem: In Paul's letter to the GALATIANS chapter 5 vs 22 - 23 he describes the Fruit of the Spirit - The first trait is LOVE which motivates the other eight. GOD is love and those who believe in GOD are indwelt by His Spirit and these nine traits become part of their daily character. Paul also teaches about the "Works of the Flesh" which are the opposite characteristics. Hatred - misery - strife - impatience - nastiness - evil - unfaithfulness - aggression - uncontrolled. These characteristics are very evident in today's "dog eat dog" society. Being filled with the Holy Spirit enables us to live Christlike lives every day - AMEN - BRIAN
