TANKAS Are extended HAIKU - 5 7 5 7 7
CATS are best pets
fluffy scruffy and playful
cheaper at the vets.
Cats - always where the mat is.
Home - always where the cat is !
DOGS are great as pets
playful - faithful - resourceful
never leave regrets !
Big Labs and little Yorkies
rain or shine all need WALKIES
When I'm living in ......
a flat no dog and no cat
for a pet I wish ?
The answer is a tank of
Tropical and awesome fish !

- Comment from author about the poem: Lots of poets find HAIKU (and SENRYU) too short so we introduced the TANKA which gives an extra two lines each of seven syllables. The initial ides was that these lines would explain the Haiku ! I realise I should have called my peom A TANKA FISH ! BRIAN
