Steal You Away

StuckInSweetSurrender

I've seen a lot of love go to waste,

Love that seemed misplaced.

A girl who gave it her all,

For a boy who just sat and watched her fall.

I watched her lust for his attention,

But her name never left his lips, not even a mention.

I tried to be good and sit by as a friend,

As they became something they could not mend.

I showed her what she was in my eyes,

What she should be in that guy's.

I didn't mean to steal you away,

Only change the way you thought.

But I found myself clinging to everything you could say,

Wishing to be the one you sought.

I want to feel your lips against mine,

Getting drunk off your kiss.

Experience this new taste of wine,

A feeling I never want to miss.

I'll do what I have to,

Just to see this through,

For a chance at something new.

Just to be with you.

It happens and produces in our heart both Agony (for his treatment of her) and Hope (of what might develop between you). All true love starts as friendship. A beautifully crafted love poem. Thanks for carin' an' sharin' BRIAN

And we truly never know when or how that emotion will establish itself, whether in a relationship or just the beginning of an attachment to another's soul.
