Daddy You Have Gone

mrsweewere

Daddy you have gone away
And this time will be the longest
We really wish that you could stay
But the time has come for you to rest

Asleep you will stay
As we await the resurrection
Getting closer each day
With great anticipation

In my dreams is where you'll be
Laughing and smiling, holding me tightly
Won't be long till I'm with you, you see
Those are the days it will shine ever brightly

The pain is unbearable its true
And some days I can't see past it
But I know God will help me through
Day by day and bit by bit

I will miss your stories from when you were younger
From the chicken with trains to the badgers hide
Your need for food like a constant hunger
Tucking wrappers down the side

I love you dad always and forever
You have always been good to us all
You spoilt us and we went without never
Loving us with your all

So goodbye for now my sweet daddy
In my heart and memories is where I'll keep you
I will miss you more than words will ever express
Never to hold you or see your face or hear your voice
Until I see you again

Thanks - Another awesome poem with great rhythm and a consistent rhyme pattern abab cdcd etc. Losing a loved one is always painful - but we sorrow not as those that have no hope. Faith in GOD and a belief of reunion in Heaven is a great Blessing ! Wonderful tribute to your DAD - thanks for caring and sharing - Yours BRIAN
