Nihility

Owen Powell

The days I waste go by so fast in time

Purpose is masked by this shady facade

I must act fast while I am in my prime

This truth ought be that I am truly flawed

This is so numb I am for now distrait

What will I find if I dig deep in thought

It will unearth the true color of gray

And learn the truth of my future is naught

Today I soar or so I think I do

Oh wait I fall onto the ground and die

For this repent it is with woe I rue

Who would have thought to think I could not fly

With this disdain it is not I who rise

Someone else will gain their ascend to fame

They all are frauds hiding within their guise

The truth is there are no rules in the game

It is innate in us to want to climb

We all wish to clamber to the summit

But soon we all realize there is no time

This dawn is dusk and we make our plummet

I want to come back and to rise above

Could I return or am I barred for life

This life is done it rips apart true love

With no withdrawal we see that death is rife
