A great man once said:
"Your lips are like wine and I want to get drunk"
The thing about wine is, it makes me depressed,
Which your lips do as well.
Wine makes me cry in the corner, just like you,
The only difference is wine comforts me,
even if it's only for a short amount of time
Which is more than you've ever done.
Your lips are like wine and I'm an alcoholic
destroying my life with the one poison I crave more than ever.
I can't quit you no matter how hard I try.
Your lips are like wine and I want to get drunk,
Just not with you

"There is many a slip twixt cup and lip !" Thanks for a well crafted poem flowing with emotion and angst. The scenario and analagies you paint are familiar. I have kissed lips - which should have been "sweeter than wine" but the experience beyond the kiss has been as cold as Chardonnay and not as warm as Merlot ! Your last lines sum up your poem well. "Your lips are like wine and I want to get drunk - just not with you ! Thanks for sharing - BRIAN
