WHY WORRY ? A calming Sonnet !

BRIAN & ANGELA

21st Century is an anxious one

Folk worry in the morning and the day

They worry for their loved ones - they worry

For their Country - worries never go away !

Worry makes things worse and never better

The pace of global warming's not severe

Count your blessings break anxiety's fetter

Spread happiness and love and joy and cheer

Our little worries multiply and grow

So nip them in the bud - they'll go away

Then you will be - so worry free - you'll help

Others also - to chase their blues away.

Satan wants us to worry and despair

Please trust in GOD - his help is always there !

Thanks for reading - hope it helps - comments welcome - BRIAN

  • Comment from author about the poem: We do live in a "worrying" society. In my experience most people worry about little things - money - health - their friends and family etc. Faith in God can give us peace in our hearts over our immediate circumstances and help us to restore - peace - contentment and harmony. People also worry about the big things over which we have little or no control - terrorism - overpopulation - the environment - increasing crime and lawlessness etc. I am concerned about these things too and I try to be as GREEN as I can. ADDITIONALLY - I pray about all these big (and little) issues and I find that my assurance in GOD drives out fear and worry and gives me peace in my own heart. How do you cope? BRIAN
