Still need you

Tableforone

Not a day passes where I don't think of you,

The lessons you taught me .

I dream of you, your voice is still so clear.

I think your be happy with how I've handled things, I think you'd be proud.

I've changed a lot and I'm sorry you never got to know the new me.

They say you're no longer in pain that you're no longer suffering.

I'm glad for that but dad I miss you.

I hate to be selfish but who's going help me through this?

Who's going to tell me I'm messing up or that, that guy is not the one for me?

You taught me well but I still need you.

HI TABLE-FOR-ONE (great pen name !) welcome to MY POETIC SIDE. Love the pathos and heart in your elegant poem. It is well structured - I love "free verse". The content is so so sad - you only get one DAD. You obviously still love your Dad and miss his advice. So many of my friends who have loast their Dads say the same thing " I wish he could see how I've turned out !" Thanks for sharing - BRIAN
