I wish I was a HORSE
A big black Stallion - of course
TEN to ONE with my jockey on
Thunderin' round the course !
I wish I was a CAT
Ginger Tom and not too fat
Scoffing fish from a silver dish
Then snoozin' on my mat !
To be a DOG - I would adore
A snuggly cuddly Labrador
A pampered pet don't need no vet
Who could ask for more !
I wish I was a rabbit
Favourite food a cool crisp carrot
Feelin' butch in designer hutch
This could become a habit !
BUT GOD made me a MAN
I do the best I can
To follow God's designer plan !
Always happy never sad
Satisfied with the life I've had
Just moved into a nice new pad
One day - I'd love to be a DAD !
What would you like to be ? please comment - BRIAN

- Comment from author about the poem: Sometimes - when i think of all the pets I had when I was young - I wish I could be an animal. But animals are programmed and in many many ways live narrower lives than HOMO SAPIENS so i'm glad God chose to make me a Man. Humans (all things being equal) have an infinite degree of freedom in the 21st Century ! I don't believe in reincarnation - but if I did - I would ask to come back as a WOMAN because (in the UK at least) it is increasingly a Woman's World ! Do you agree ? BRIAN

Oh wow! This is filled with so much humor. There's so many things I wanted to be. Wanted to be a bird at some point. An eagle to be precise. And I love your rhymes by the way.
Thanks KAYCHEE for an encouraging comment ! Rhyme does add someting special to poem ! "O for the wings for the wings - for the wings of a DOVE ..................... !" I guess we all want to be a bird sometime - and EAGLES are the ultimate - BRIAN
i love it! rhymes well, nicely written. i often wonder what my cats would say, if they could talk.
Thanks MT - thanks for your encouragement ! Cats have very expressive body language - which often says more than mere words ! The same is true of Ladies as well ! BRIAN
