Where are you? Are words I type too often. Throughout these days I can't help but constantly check my phone every 2 minutes. Hoping I can fit into your "busy schedule". I understand all the things you do. Work, school, teaching, and whatever else you do to keep me off your mind. Every time I turn my screen on all I see is an empty notification bar. Did he answer me yet? No. How about now? No. Message after message every few hours with only a delivered appearing next to them. None of them read. I just wish I could be part of your schedule. But I guess I have no place. I check my phone, its Kik! I get excited when I see your name. My whole face lights up in joy. Then I look over and read "what?"

HI LAYLA - WELCOME and thanks for your first poem. I like the free verse style and the subject gives it a "time related" flow. Modern electronic communication media has great advantages (mobile phones - tablets etc) the whole World (Facebook - Twitter - e-mail etc) is only a CLICK away. The main disadvantage is that in principle its function is in the hands (and hearts) of humans. Some of the people I most want to contact have their mobiles switched of and emailwise are not "on line". So my calls go unanswered and my messages go unread. When these are emotional calls and messages it hurts even more. In the 21st C we are all "too busy" to receive or reply - so I can empathise with both sides of your frustration. Cause & effect the twin scourges of technology. We are all victims ! BRIAN
