Within this tunnel vision-warped hole,
I'm thinking of you and driving home.
Two hands on the wheel and staring,
dead, straight-ahead and daring.
The years resisted promises,
it's hard somehow,
thinking of you right now.
Your smell is coming back again.
Our shared moments are hitting me alone.
You live bodiless in my senses;
only someone lost is understanding.
The world is casting your shadow,
leaving footprints,
wherein your beauty is bestowed.
Even night lights up with you like fire.
It finds finds me casting clovers to nowhere,
breathing in it's freshness and tasting hope.
Your life with me reflected off the white lines.
Signalling my memories with you as I drive,
tired, finding you everywhere, hidden.
It's your smile I'm missing;
the ones that won't be given,
making the time long and unforgiving.
Seeing it all come to an end,
the empty places you would've been.
I press my mistakes to the floor,
imagining it to be different.

WELCOME MWGD and thanks for your first story a very poignant account of LOST LOVE. We've all been there but (in my experience) while we are still young there is always the hope of new love blossoming. Yours BRIAN
