ENGLISH COUNTRY GARDEN - A Pantoum

BRIAN & ANGELA

Daffodils crocus and primroses too

See how they bloom in my garden today

Yellow and white pink and purple and blue

Colorful show in the wind as they sway,

See how they bloom in my garden today

Pollen for honey bees as they fly by

Yellow and white pink and purple and blue

Enjoying warmth from the Sun in the sky

Pollen for honey bees as they fly by

Promise of poppies daisies and roses

Enjoying warmth from the Sun in the sky

Color for Summer my garden proposes

Promise of poppies daisies and roses

Daffodils crocus and primroses too

Color for Summer my garden proposes

Yellow and white pink and purple and blue

  • Comment from author about the poem: In a PANTOUM there are normally FOUR STANZAS each with four lines. As the poem progresses lines 2 & 4 of stanza ONE become lines 1 & 3 of stanza TWO and so on. In stanza FOUR line 1 & 3 (from stanza ONE) become lines 2 & 4. In rhyme notation this is expressed as ABCD BEDF EGFH GAHB ! Hope that is clear - try one for yourself - BRIAN
