Siren

blacksparrow

She calls for him, she beckons

She seeks him from her loins.

Beautiful and glistening

One song,

the heavens joined.

Unfold for him, release her

So easily destroyed

She calls for him, he does not come

the ocean feels her void.

Storms rage, the waters surge-

as he just stands upon the shore.

Awaits her death in silence,

their music plays no more.

WELCOME BLACKSPARROW - Love your first poem. In my experience SIRENS are very appealing and more often than not irresistible. Your well penned poem focuses on a Siren scorned. Because her charms are ignored her "death" is inevitable. There is a moral in this poem of both "love" and "life". The last line is very poignant - something we have all experienced form time to time. Their music plays no more ! BRIAN
