Blood (12/02/2016)

Blood.
That thing constantly flowing through your body, keeping you alive.

Blood.
That thing that appears as your blade lacerates your beautiful skin.

Blood.
That thing you draw when you so desperately search for some release from life.

Blood.
That feeling like you can finally breathe as it’s oozing out of your gorgeous body.

Blood.
Does that sensation really last though? Is that ephemeral feeling worth the regret as you cover up your latest scars?

Blood.
Picture your perfect future. You. Friends. Family. Pets. Love.

Blood.
This part of your life may seem to suck, but don’t deprive yourself from the brightest future you deserve.

Blood.
It keeps you alive.

Blood.
So let it.

WOW MILLIE - A very challenging first poem ! Always remember "Our life is in our BLOOD" and we've only got 8 pints ! Losing some blood does give release and often our pain and sngst seeps away with our blood - but remember "Your life is in your BLOOD" tt's awesome the red hemoglobin in our blood picks up oxygen from our lungs and takes it to all the cells in our body which need oxygen to provide energy. The CO2 that is produced as the glucose (fuel) in our body is consumed to provide energy for heat and movement etc is transferred by the BLOOD back to the lungs. The BLOOD picks up more oxygen to keep us alive. There is nothing more precious than BLOOD it is "liquid life". Thanks for sharing - BRIAN.
