To Fight The Mundane

Jack Willows

An empty mind

A heart of stone

One who speaks in monotone

While fighting the boredom of everyday life

One cannot use a gun or knife

One must use an ancient tool

Not common day insults or ridicule

One must use jokes, you see

To rid a day of mockery

And to provide the perfect cure

Of which its effects I am sure

It will fill an empty mind

Soften a heart of stone

And it will bring color to the voice

Which speaks in monotone

After you have tried the cure

Which will not fail I am sure

You will see how satisfied you can be

Without living your days in monotony
