The wave quakes,
The boat shakes.
Yet our eyes are still aligned, as I look into yours and you into mine,
Cold water splashes over the sides.
You ask me a question, "Do you love me?"
"Yes, but more than that, attached."
Like a fish to the sea,
me, you, and gravity.
You're the love I found and lost.
Taken away by the waves of life,
a thousand ways I paid the cost
But you smile, then I turn and see
The night sky blistering, thick strikes of lightning.
The thunder syncs with my heart beat.
And so if love is love then what i felt that night was more than love.
Like God had sent His Heaven Dove
Upon that boat
That tender coat,
of happiness.
So again the boat shakes,
this time with my heart awake
and a calm lonely lake

- Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this poem based on a picture I viewed on my literature book. It had a boat in the middle of a storm with water smacking against the sides.

WELCOME OMS - THANKS FOR BEAUTIFUL FIRST POEM ! Check my poems and you will see that (in essence) they are often inspired by a PICTURE. The poem you have conjured up is special because it is metaphorical and speaks he waves of life. My muse often strikes first with a visual image. Yours BRIAN
I like it a LOT,but what does IDK stand for?
couldn't figure out a name for it. Any ideas my friend?
