My Lovely Lagoon
Bewalled by steep hills
Glistens in the Moon
As the moonlight spills
Wraps it in cacoon
Incandescent thrills
A shimmering Fall
Cascades in the lake
Mesmerising all
Rock strewn path to slake
Hear the seabirds call
Plaintive for my sake
As new morning dawns
With bright shining Sun
Then the mystic warns
Of the deeds we've done
Good and evil spawns
We repent as one

- Comment from author about the poem: This poem relates to the picture which is a beautiful but mysterious Fantasy Lagoon. It is written in a very concise and precise style called "Trisextet quinosia". It is a descriptive style for a Tone Poem based on a picture. You are allowed three verses of six lines - BUT - only five syllables per line which is very restrictive and excludes the use of flowery multiisyllabic adjectives. Consequently such poems have a starkness which should fit the subject. Comments welcome - BRIAN

Incandescent thrills.... Hmmm amazing
Good wordplay
Well OLA I'm a Performance Poet and I love the sound of words and "Incandescent thrills" sounds so so bautiful and means whatever you want it to mean - Yours BRIAN.
There you go Brian. Now you are talking!!
I am ready for a swim...
Thanks LYSIS - pleased your ready to jump in ! I took your advice and when I saw the picture my muse (or was it your muse ?) prompted me to write something more mystical and moving as all poetry should be. I thought you would like the last verse ! Yours BRIAN
It has touches from Poe's World.
And don't be surprised about diving in lakes.
I am not easily scared....
I'm sure you're not LYSIS - I love swimming in Lakes. I also like climbing up and own waterfalls which can be dangerous ! You can dive in my Lake anytime ! Yours - BRIAN
