My mind is hiding

katherinem7

My mind has slipped away
So very far away
the wind has carried it Into the mountains
And over the restless seas

I may never see it again
It may be gone forever
Or maybe it's been here all along
Hiding away in fear

In fear of the evil, in fear of the hatred
In fear of the people and of the sounds
In fear of me, and what I might do.

I have abused it in the past
Though I never intended to
So it must be somewhere hiding from me
Hiding from the pain...

WELCOME KATHERINE - INTERESTING FIRST POEM - Good "free verse" structure and a very painful content. As Humans we are tripartate Body - Mind - Spirit. As we get older our bodies and minds get weaker and the Spirit depends on our faith. I know many people (mainly in the 60+ age group) whose minds are slowly slipping away. YES it does hide the BAD times (pain) but the GOOD times recede as well ! Thanks for sharing BRIAN
