No need to be a hero
To fly into space
To conquer a country
Just make me some tea
When I am sad or weary
Small things are enough
No need to be a lover
To bring fragrant roses
To write clever poems
Just hold my hand
When I am worried or lonely
Small things are enough
No need to make speeches
To build castles with words
To drip honey from tongue
Just share my silence
In a world full of noise
Small things are enough

THANKS BERTHOLD - BIG POEM about SMALL THINGS ! I'm 50 years younger than you - BUT - I appreciate the same small things ! A cup of tea - Holding hands - Sharing silence in a noisy world ! Maybe I've already grown up ! Thanks for caring BRIAN
I could've said it better. i read this poem at the right moment. This poem has spoken to my heart. And i'm going to fly with it. Thanks for sharing your innermost thoughts and feelings. Good day.
BERT'S SMALL REQUIREMENTS:
1.Just make me some tea
2.Just hold my hand
3.Just share my silence
MY QUESTION/COMMENT:
1.Who is going to do the rest?(cooking, cleaning, ironing, shopping, working etc.)
2.Share Silence? Only when I am asleep or dead....
CONCLUSION:
Bert is not asking for SIMPLE things!!
This is such a beautiful poem!
